Tell Mar Elias

Tell Mar Elias is an archaeological site in Jordan that includes churches that were discovered on a hill called Mar Elias Hill. This site is located 12 kilometers northwest of the city of Ajloun in Jordan, and is distinguished by its geographical location, as the archaeological hill rises about 900 meters above sea level.

The site holds special significance as a Christian pilgrimage site in Jordan. As it is approved by the Vatican as a baptism site situated approximately 11 kilometers north of the Dead Sea, Many significant monuments, including the Monastery of Saint Elias and several churches, were discovered during archaeological excavations conducted in 1999 and 2001.
